Lemnos welcomes the marine biodiversity mission, November 2024

Let us get to know the rare natural wealth of our seas in Lemnos. How can we all contribute to their protection?

In November 2024, the Archipelagos Institute of Marine Conservation will visit Lemnos with the research vessel “Triton” for a mission that aims to protect the unique marine biodiversity of the island. The research team is composed of marine scientists and researchers of many disciplines from many regions of the world!

This initiative is made possible thanks to the action of a group of active citizens, Lemnos Marine Conservation, and its supporters, in collaboration with the Archipelagos Institute.

As part of the expedition’s stay on our island, educational activities will take place in schools on Lemnos, during which members of the expedition will talk to young and old about the globally important marine biodiversity of our island, the expedition and wider environmental issues related to marine wealth. The educational activities will take place starting from the week of 18 November 2024!

On behalf of Lemnos Marine Conservation, and its supporters, we would like to thank the school principals and their staff for their warm welcome and participation in our initiative!
